ABOUT THIS CLASS

Silgan University offers a three-day training session that is intended to provide mechanics with hands-on training to enhance their skills and knowledge of the 2000 Series Closing Machine.
New hires or those with limited knowledge of the canning equipment are encouraged as a prerequire to attend the Timing and Adjustments class first.
Course Price: $1,500/person.

DAY 1

Course objectives
Seamer maintenance
Timing and adjustments
Change over

DAY 2

Finish cover feed rebuild procedure and set-up
Remove seaming spindle from seamer head cap
Remove seaming lever shanks from seaming head cap
Tear down and discuss seaming shank overhaul procedure and set-up
Tear down and discuss seaming spindle overhaul procedure and set-up
Tear down and discuss seaming knockout rod overhaul procedure and set-up
Tear down and discuss can holding chuck overhaul procedure and set-up
Remove make-up, discharge, kicker cam segments from seaming cam

DAY 3

Inspect cover guides and discuss critical wear areas and install
Install seaming head caps
Install can holding chuck
Install can feed turret
Install stationary guide
Install discharge turret
Install cover feed
Install cover feed drive
Install double seam tooling
Discuss and time seamer
Discuss and time cover feed
Discuss and start basic double seam set-up
